New Moon Midnight Showing

Ok so we went to dinner at 5:30 and then were in line at about 7:15. Of course Kenzie and her crew went and got in line at 5:30 and saved our spot while we ate and then we traded. Twilight was set to start at 9, then a party in between and then New Moon. The party was a blast! JULIE MCDONALD, CHRISTY SMITH, JAMIE OLSEN AND LYNNIE MORTENSON! YOU SO ROCK!!! They put the whole party in between together and is was so much fun!! And so well thought out! Almost all of the ladies in our group ended up in the trivia contest! I ended up winning in sudden death!
We had so much fun! You probably would have thought we were drunk or something we were screaming and going crazy! Stacy has the best dance moves ever and we were all laughing so hard. I seriously have sore stomach muscles from laughing so hard and so much!! It was so fun to go with a group of ladies that can totally relax, let their hair down and be themselves.
We saw some of Lyle's students there. They recognized me and I am sure they thought we were so totally nuts! But we had fun so that is all that matters! :)
The movie was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see it again, and you could totally take your husband to this one and he will be entertained, the fight scenes and wolves were amazing! JUNE 30th for Eclipse!!

First day of school

So this is from the fist day of school for the top 5. One starting High school, one starting Jr. high and one starting Kindergarten that day!! It was a little crazy! They are growing up so fast. It makes me sad. Also, I remember High school so well, I can't believe my child is in it!!
They were so excited. Rorie was so sad that first week until she started preschool.
I love teaching Preschool. It is a lot of fun! I totally love when they light up because it clicks for them. Rorie is learning so much! We had Jackson and Jacob in Football, Rayah, Rylee and Jensen in soccer this fall. It was a little nuts. Jensen is playing biddy ball right now and Jackson made the decision to not play basketball, so they he could try to keep up in his classes. We all went through what I am assuming was the Swine Flu. All but Rorie and me. So I haven't had to miss any work with sick kids which is really lucky! Lyle is busy with DECA , which of course he loves. Thats the latest! :)

Craziness!

Ok so I know it really has been a long time since I posted and I will post pictures soon. After a crazy summer that Lyle was gone for most of, school started and fall sports. We have 5 in sports and that has been chaos. Jackson started High School and Jacob Jr. High then Jensen Kindergarten. I started teaching Preschool with Rorie in my class on M-W-F. I love it but it makes added stress to get everything done at home. Rayah, Rylee and Jensen are all playing soccer, and Jackson and Jacob football. It seems like we are never home and dinner at 8:30 or later at night has happened more than once. We are all in survival mode right now I guess.

OK! OK! I know it has been 2 and a half months. But I have had a hard time getting things back to normal after Lyle's surgeries. Yes, in case some of you don't know. After his first surgery on the 30th of January. One week to the day after that surgery he started getting some twinges of pain in his back and down his leg. Not supposed to happen. They put him on some Corti-steroids and that helped while he was on them. But they aren't something you can take long term. Ok so to make this very long story shorter... He ended up hurting again badly and ended up talking to the doctor on the phone and having another MRI. Scheduled surgery to get almost to Medford and find out the Insurance company had denied it because he talked to the doctor on the phone and didn't actually see him. So he sees the doctor and then we have to wait another 8 days before he ends up in surgery due to the insurance company and the doctor's schedule. Thank Heaven my parents were so helpful with the kids and let us stay there so much. My mom even had Lyle there for almost a week and took care of him By the end of it Lyle was off of work for about 6 weeks. All of this in a renewal of contract year. Can you say STRESS!!

The good news is, Lyle is doing great! We got renewed and life is good.

In the mean time lots of stuff has happened that I haven't updated on. Jacob turned 12 and received the Aaronic priesthood. I turned 35. (YUCK!) The Twilight movie came out on DVD. Spring break, my sister Michelle came and visited. We got an elliptical machine????? I can't think of all that has been going on. Thus, why you should write it down when it happens.

Anyway, here is a pic of Jacob on his big day.

WOHOO!

FINALLY! We went to see the Neurologist this morning and the first thing he said when he came in is,
"I can make the pain go away and do the surgery today, want me to see if we can get an OR?"

Lyle replied "HECK YEAH!"

So he told his girls to try to schedule it and came back and explained the MRI results. We went to my parents house and waited for a couple of hours for the insurance company to give the go ahead. At 3pm we went to the hospital and checked in, got the green light at 4:20 and surgery at 4:40. He was done by 5:45pm. We will leave the hospital by midnight and then drive home tomorrow! Quite the whirlwind day! We are so thankful he could get in today. This Doctor usually has a 3 month wait. So this is a huge blessing. The surgery went well and Lyle is feeling SO much better! Thanks so much to everyone for your prayers! They worked!

In the meantime, my friend Stacy who has 6 kids of her own and is expecting her 7th in April has my 4 oldest kids overnight and my 2 youngest are with my brother Craig and his wife Molly who have 4 of their own! I guess I will be owing favors after this :). We are so glad they were willing to help us out so much!

UPDATE!

So today we finally found out that we can see a neurologist on Friday(tomorrow) at 11 am in Medford. Of course we are hoping that if surgery is the course of action (and we are pretty sure it is) that they will be able to do it tomorrow. We know our chances are slim to none on that and it will likely be scheduled for some time next week. But we can always hope. We are feeling very grateful that we got in to see him this soon. The other doctor here in Klamath Falls is on vacation until February 6th. We definately can't wait that long as Lyle spent most of the day flat on his back or flat on his front. Sleep isn't coming easy and he is in extreme pain most of the time so we are hoping whatever they decide to do, they will do it quickly and it will reduce the pain by a whole lot. We will keep you updated as soon as we know anything else. Thanks for your prayers and support.

The Latest

OK so as many of you know we have had lots of things lately that are cause for concern and many of you have prayed and fasted with us. I thought I would update as I really need you faith and prayers if you can.

1. It looks like the teacher's union and the school district have reached common ground. They vote on the contract on the 4th of Feb. So far it looks like it will pass but we will know on Thursday the 5th. Pray it passes.

2. When you are a teacher the first 3 years are probationary. Meaning they can get rid of you for any reason those years. This is Lyle's 3rd year and if he gets renewed this year it is a lot harder to be let go. We should find out end of February beginning of March. I don't want to move again so please pray he gets renewed.

3. Lyle's back has been hurting since November. Recently it got a lot worse. He couldn't get off of the floor Monday almost at all. We went to the doctor and they did Xrays and then an MRI yesterday. They decided he has a ruptured disk. Surgery is a big possibility. The doc they want him to go to is hard to get in to and we are hoping we can today. Lyle was up most of the night in extreme pain. So pray we get in to see this guy and he can do surgery or whatever quickly.

4. Pray that I can survive it all! :)

Thanks for all of you love and support. Let us know when we can return the favor.

Christmas Break was great for us. It was busy. We had Jensen's Birthday, Christmas, my brother Nic's wedding and went to Idaho to visit! Here are some random pics!

Jensen turns 5!

Ok so While I am terrible at updating I thought I would get to it. Jensen turned 5 on December 23rd. This is him that night after his party.
He is just getting so big. Kindergarten next fall! Only 1 left after that!
